ENJOY VIETNAMESE TRADITIONAL WATER PUPPET TOUR

       “Not watching a performance of water puppetry means not visiting Vietnam yet”. This is the practical advice appearing in many guidebooks in Vietnam. And it is so true that most visitors to Vietnam try to watch a performance of water puppetry at least once. And after the performance, most of them are excited and always repeat this advice to their relatives who are going to take a tour to the beautiful country named Vietnam.

          Since ancient times, humans and nature is always associated with each other, support each other. Humans have relied on nature to produce and at the same time to create these unique art forms. South of the Red River delta is the cradle of water puppetry is also for that reason.

   For a long time, water puppetry became familiar images, representative for culture and Vietnam, is the spirit of entertainment indispensable for international travelers coming to Vietnam.

           Water puppetry has been performed on the surface of the ponds and paddy fields of the Red River Delta in northern Vietnam for a thousand years – the lively creation of farmers who spend their days tending the flooded rice plantations. Now the internationally renowned Thang Long troupe brings the unique Vietnamese Water Puppet tradition that has delighted audiences around the world to Darwin Waterfront. 4:00 pm: The boat will pick you up at the boat station of our resort and visit Thien Mu pagoda.

5:00 pm: After visiting Thien Mu pagoda, the boat will transfer you slow down to the city. Along the way you will enjoy dinner with Hue specialty dishes and watch the sunset on the river.

6:30 pm: Boat will transfer you to the Puppet Theatre near Toa Kham boat station. Guest will enjoy a show very attractive and cheerful.

7.15pm: Car and guide will pick you return to Resort.

7:35 pm: End of the program.

BOAT TOUR THIEN MU PAGODA & MINH MANG TOMB

Time: 3-4 hours

       Minh Mang ‘s tomb is 12km form Hue centre, on Cam Ke mount, near Bang Lang confluence, on the west bank of Perfume River.

       Minh Mang’s tomb is a standard architectural complex consisting of 40 constructions (palaces, temples, pavilions, etc.) designed on an symmetric axis running from Dai Hong gate to the foot of La Thanh (Surrounding Wall) behind the Emperor’s tomb.

         Built in 1601 in between a river and a pine forest, the Thien Mu pagoda (Heavenly Lady pagoda) in Hue is one of the oldest and prettiest religious buiding in the country. Among the many interesting artifacts housed at the complex is the car that took the monk Thich Quang Duc to his himself-immolation in 1963 Sai Gon.
